About this experience

The “Chorro” section of the Naranjo River has Class IV and V rapids, for those of you looking for a more intense rafting expirence. Here we will run some of the best and most challenging rapids available in Costa Rica. Exploding water, steep drops, tight rock walls, and technical routes will get your adrenaline pumping. We will ride through the narrow canyons surrounded by huge boulders, and cascading waterfalls while taking in the breathtaking scenery of the rainforest, making this unique whitewater rafting experience the highlight of your Costa Rica vacation! This trip is recommended for individuals in strong physical condition!  The tour is approx 4.5 hours from start to finish with approx 1.5 hours in the water.  This trip include lunch, bilingual guides, safety kayaker, photographer (pictures available for purchase), and A/C transportation to and from hotels or houses in Manuel Antonio or Quepos.

What you'll do

  1. We will pick you up from your hotel or house in Manuel Antonio or Quepos, bring you to our office to get you signed in and have breakfast. Then we will depart to the river which is about a 35 minute drive. Once we arrive at the river put in, you will be outfitted with a life jacket, helmet and paddle. The guides will give a safety talk, and you will have a swim practice. The descent down the river is approx 1.5 hours. After the rafting is over, you will ride in our transport back to our Amigos Del Rio office where lunch will be served, and then you will be dropped off at your hotel.
