What you'll do

  1. 5:00a.m. Meet with the guide at the local bakery in Puerto Jimenez (you can buy snacks and breakfast for the hike here). 5:30 a.m. Take a boat from Puerto Jimenez to Carate. 7:30 a.m. Arrival at Carate. Begin walking to get to the park’s entrance. 8:30 a.m. Register at the La Leona Ranger Station. Hike the Madrigal Trail. 10:00 a.m. Arrival at the Madrigal River. Hike the Paradise Trail. 11:00 a.m. Arrival at the Hedionda Creek. Hike the Barco Trail. 12:00 m.d. Lunch at the Hedionda Creek (not included). 1:00 p.m. Hike back to La Leona and Carate. 2:30-3:00 p.m. Arrival at Carate and transportation back to Puerto Jimenez. 4:30-5:00 p.m. Arrival at Puerto Jimenez. End of the tour.
